These are the prompts in the book on pp. 21-22.
Write an essay descrsibing YOUR writing.
Focus on 2 or 3 areas that seem most importnat to you, and present them in the order that seems to make the most sense to you.
1. How important or unimportant is writing to you?
Do you usually take pride in writing you do for school or do you just do it for a grade?
How much not-for-school writing do you do?
2. Have any people or books influenced your writing? Who ? How?
3. What specific pieces have you written that are memorable to you? Why are they memorable?
4. What techniques help you think of writing ideas? Which is most successful? Least successful?
5. How has your writing changed over the last few years? Do you know why?
6. What are your notable writing habits? Are there any writing habits you would like to break?
7. Do you share your writing with anyone? Why or why not?
8. How do you know you're done with a piece of writing? What are the signs?
